Black/North SEAS at Skegness and Mablethorpe 25 September - 3 October
NVA is proud to have been invited to report from the Skegness International Festival on a spectacular range of new artistic and performance work from around northern Europe, all forming part of the bigger North Seas project. The Festival runs from 25 September to 3 October in Skegness and Mablethorpe.
Artists and art fans from Nottingham and beyond are urged to take a trip out to our favourite resorts – often dubbed Nottingham-on-Sea, after all – for what is going to be an extraordinary series of events.
NVA is going to be there. Charlotte Pratley will be in residence over the weekend of 25th-27th September and Andrew Cooper will take over during the following week and we’ll aim to give you a flavour of some of the great work on show.
Major European artists like Venelin Shurelov (Bulgaria), Siri Hermansen (Norway) and Anne Lise Stenseth (Norway) will be represented (many of them in town for the Festival) and there will be ground-breaking theatre like Glorious Death by Dritero Kasapi (Sweden), plus artists from closer to home like Nottingham’s own Hatch and Melissa Bliss.

Let’s have a big Nottingham presence on the coast – candyfloss all round? - but if you can’t be there, then follow events on NVA.
