Tether

Tether was formed in 2007 by a mixture of visual artists who graduated from Nottingham Trent University, plus practitioners from other backgrounds. The group was founded out of a desire to stay in Nottingham and maintain the work ethic and sense of community that formed whilst studying at university.

Until 2010, Tether Studios consisted of two galleries, The Wasp Room and Max Warburg Space, a social space with a screen for curated video works, The Black Swan, a disco-themed water closet and an event/lecture space, Tethervision Studio.

The group now operates as a collective, producing collaborative installations and video works, as well as curating an online archive for video art and videos about art, Tethervision

The group consists of artists Liam Aitken, Hugh Dichmont, Samuel Mercer Lauren O’Grady, Apexa Patel and Hannah Phillips.
