Nottingham Society of Artists

The Nottingham Society of Artists was founded in 1880, making it one of the oldest art societies in the country. Based near Nottingham Castle and ajacent to the Friar Lane Gallery its aim 'is to bring together artists and others interested in the Visual Arts who are resident in Nottingham and district'

The galleries at this venue are for hire, and available at £30 per day.

Nottingham Society of Artists represents several artists, whose work is featured on their website. The venue hosts regular painting exhibitions and is free to visit.

The venue is owned by the Nottingham Society of Artists Trust and is a registered charity. 'The object of membership is to bring together for mutual help and inspiration, artists and others interested in the Visual Arts who are resident in Nottingham and district.' New members are admitted twice yearly. Weekly painting groups and exhibitions are available for trust members.
