Nottinghamshire County Council Arts Service invites applicants for Nottinghamshire Creative 2010, a tailored training and development scheme which aims to provide support to local crafts people and encourage creative businesses in the county to thrive.

Nottinghamshire Creative 2010 will provide peer learning and mentoring opportunities, explore applied business skills and improve and extend curatorial expertise.

To apply you must be;

· A Nottinghamshire* resident producing quality contemporary craft

· A member of The Creative Greenhouse; a network for creative people and businesses in Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire.

 We are looking for creative people who;

· Have been running a creative business for at least one year (full or part time)

· Would benefit from support to help their creative business thrive

· Would benefit from mentoring

· Would relish the opportunity to be part of a group

· Are prepared to make new work which will be offered for sale during the Creative Greenhouse Christmas Gift exhibition at Rufford Gallery

· Will commit to a 10 day training and development programme from May to December 2010

The culmination of the scheme will be The Creative Greenhouse Christmas Gift Exhibition opening on Sunday 14 November and running until Sunday 3 January 2011 at Rufford Gallery, Rufford Abbey Country Park, Nottinghamshire, NG22 9DF. http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/arts

Selected applicants will be required to commit to attending the full 10 day programme of meetings, training and mentoring days (running from mid May to December 2010), most of which will take place on Fridays. In addition participants will be involved in the process of organising and installing work for the exhibition.
