YA YA
YA YA are a young artists/ young adults group of like-minded young people who have received funding to deliver a creative young person focused zone at this year’s high profile Riverside Festival in Nottingham City.
We are looking for a sculpture artist to work three full days with a specific group of young people who are facing social challenges before the festival (dates and group to be confirmed). This group has still to be located. We would also like the work to be continued and displayed at the Riverside Festival itself on the dates below
Fri 6th August 11am – 3pm - Disadvantaged Childrens Day
6 30pm – 9pm – Official opening
Sat 7th August 1pm – 8pm
Sun 8th August 1pm – 5pm
We would like three individual sculptures built, using recycled materials that are to be displayed in the Art Zone of the Riverside Festival. Some of the themes the young people have suggested are related to social networking and communications and how this affects relationships but the group are open to innovative and exciting ideas
Also, the continuation of this work would to be undertaken during the festival itself. We aim for the outreached group to attend this festival also, but if not we would like the artist to continue with new young people.
The rate of pay:
5 ½ days at £180 a day Total = £990 plus materials budget of £300
